Story of The Song

What makes these lyrics and melody so remarkable -- and most assuredly from Heaven -- is the fact that the author (David Magiera) knew absolutely nothing about singing, playing music or songwriting at the time the song was inspired.

On May 24, 1998, while singing "in the Spirit" and worshiping the Lord in the shower, a melody, chorus and the first of 40 lines of lyrics (all arriving in rhyme) began to flow -- David began writing a song he knew was to be called "The Wedding of The Lamb." The entire 40 lines of lyrics, melody and chorus was completed in just 3 days. He knew that something extraordinary had happened!

During the following days, David began making phone calls looking for someone to help get it recorded. And though not endowed with any musical talent or a singing voice, he sang the entire 10-minute song to anyone who would listen.

After four weeks of his impromptu singing debut, David received a phone call from Michael and Renita Ten Eyck, a Christian couple living in the Chicago area. They had seen "THE RAPTURE" sculpture which David created a few years earlier and wanted to buy one. As Michael began to share his appreciation for the sculpture, he also explained that he had studied music in Europe, that he and Renita both played the piano and guitar, and that they had a small recording studio in their home.

Enthusiastically, David began to tell them of the song and proceeded to sing it. They listened in amazement. Michael said he felt the Lord's call to help and asked David if he would allow him to arrange and record it. After a month of telephone solos, God brought His chosen vessels and ended David's singing quest.

David said yes and immediately purchased a beginner's book of music and with the help of a friend, wrote a simple score for the melody and chorus. Seventeen days later, the first version was finished and recorded on a CD. When David heard the song -- and Michael's anointed voice - he wept as many do when they too first hear "The Wedding of The Lamb." The song CD has since been expanded and enhanced with the shofar, Scripture reading, a word of prophecy and an exquisite 22-minute version which lets you "soak" in His presence.
