Who is the Bride of Christ?

. . .

The profound, underlying truth of the Scriptures which identify the “bride” is that we are not only invited to Jesus’ wedding, but we are in fact His bride – the one to whom He, our Bridegroom, shall be wed. Whether you are a man or a woman, you have been created to be the bride of Christ, because there is no distinction of gender in the eyes of our Creator. God is making ready a bride for His eternal intimacy. Is your heart longing to be His bride? Have you made yourself ready?

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.” Rev. 19:7

“Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” Rev. 19:9

And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding… Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’” Matthew 22:1-3,8,9

“For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry Thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.” Isaiah 62:5

“You have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride; you have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes.” Song of Solomon 4:9

“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.  Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Matthew 25:1-13

Are you a “wise virgin?”

In these last days, those who are called out from the world and have become one with Jesus, who walk in
His presence and the fullness of the Holy Spirit, will all have a common heart cry and longing for His coming. These are the days of His “called out ones,” His “wise virgins” – His chosen bride.
